First Visitor

Carol's friend Patty came to visit us for the weekend. It may have been English-quaint overkill with children's tea with Ian's headmaster (hosted by the ever-gracious Georgie Bennett), curry take-away, an antiques auction, country walks, a pub visit, punting on the Cam River, and fish 'n chips in Cambridge.  We had fun exploring our new surroundings.

Liz and Brooke Truslow are our next expected visitors and we can't wait!

Pre-Easter chocolate bunnies from P. Marie.

Mike's cousin Andrew on left pretending there is nothing at auction of interest, before scoring an antique pub game called skittles.  We could not believe how low the final bids were for everything on offer here.

Images of our town and the four-mile footpath trek along the River Nene, through crops, sheep poo, and rooster yards to end up in story-book Fotheringhay.  Home of the Falcon Pub - once owned and operated by Mike's uncle - and the site where Mary Queen of Scots lost her head.

When in Cambridge on a beautiful, sunny day, punt (or let someone do it for you).

Back to Oundle

Our traveling is over for a while and we are now settling into our house in Oundle. Over the last two days the boys have been getting better acquainted with their relatives.

Jack and Ella riding the gator

Tractor\Gator fun for everyone!

Downtown Oundle

A walk in Lord and Lady Brassey's garden

Ian and Jack did very little actual walking.

Alice, Daisy, Ian and Jack play with Poppy.

More running!

Dirty Joke? Embarrassing sound? Doggy accident? I won't tell.

"One more biscuit?" Tea in the church after the walk.

Stan and Silvia also joined us for the day.

A very handsome Bennett Family!
Thank you Bennetts for all the help you have given us helping to make this trip possible!

Off to the Palace!

As promised, Ian, Jack, Mr. Squirrel and Flat Stanley made it to Buckingham Palace.

We then went into Green Park for a little run around and some ICE CREAM!

Then finally off to Coram's Field playground for more running, climbing, sliding and swinging.

Yesterday, we managed to rally late in the day for a trip into the city center to see some sights by bus. We then walked across the Millennium Bridge to find almost no line at the London Eye. So before you can say, "Bob's your uncle" we had our tickets and were on our way.
